Beginner Tips
Save Often
Your progress is saved in the browser. Use the Save Manager to backup your data regularly in case you clear your browser cache.
Type Matchups Matter
Learn the type effectiveness chart. A super-effective move deals 2x damage, while not very effective deals 0.5x damage.
Build a Balanced Team
Use the Team Builder tool to analyze your team's weaknesses. A good team covers each other's type disadvantages.
Catch Everything
Try to catch at least one of every Pokemon you encounter. Some are exclusive to certain areas or conditions.
Train Multiple Pokemon
Don't just focus on your starter. Having a diverse team at similar levels helps in tough battles.
Explore Thoroughly
Hidden items and secret areas are scattered throughout the world. Talk to every NPC and check suspicious tiles.
